" For those of us who have survived sexual violence and are in the process of healing, it is important to remain focused on our own needs... It is the responsibility of those of us who feel stronger to support our wounded sisters" (Facts on Rape Brisbane Rape Collective, Feb 1990 p 43).

For those very reasons the importance of a play like Remember cannot be overstressed. Too often the popular media focuses purely on "the act" ‑ murder, death, rape. Very rarely do we see any exploration of "afterwards".

Remember allows us to follow one woman's path to recovery. This play is not didactic, concise and easy to understand. It provokes responses both emotional and intellectual, it needs to be discussed, debated and comprehended as does the issue itself. This is our responsibility in support of our "wounded sisters."

Remember written and directed by Jenny Kemp Gasworks Theatre till 17th April.
